Paliuli is the first design in KoAloha’s Na Manu limited series of laser 

engraved customizations. Paliuli literally means “green cliffs”, but is 

better understood as the Hawaiian Garden of Eden or paradise.

Looking at the three Bird of Paradise blossoms, you may see a bird, a 

flower or both. While Bird of Paradise is not native to the islands, 

they have become a beloved decoration of our local people. The 

“imaginary” birds that you see are inspired by the migratory birds 

that early Polynesians followed to our islands, as well as that leap of 

faith that they took to seek what lies beyond.

The simple compass at the base of the sound hole highlights the 

four cardinal directions as a reminder to stay true to our paths as 

well as honor all of the people who took a journey away from home 

to find new lands.
